Instructions for retrieving your device name and UDID

If you have a MacBook, iMac, or other Apple Computer, chose one of these two options

  • For iOS Catalina (10.15) and after, connect your iPhone to your computer.  Open Finder.  In the Finder sidebar, on the left of the screen, you’ll see your iPhone listed.  That’s the Device Name.  Click on it.  At the top of the screen under the Device Name you will see information listed such as your phone number, IMEI, etc.   You can click through the information until your UDID shows up.  You can right-click to copy the UDID.  If you are having trouble, this link has instructions with screenshots:  https://bjango.com/help/iphoneudid/

  • For iOS Mojave (10.14) or before, connect your iPhone to your computer.  Open iTunes.  Click on the device icon for your iPhone.  Then click on “Serial Number” to show your UDID.  Your Device Name will be listed in the top center of your screen under the Apple, and it will be listed on the left of your screen next to your phone icon.   If you are having trouble, this link has instructions with screenshots:  https://bjango.com/help/iphoneudid/

If you do not have a Mac, you can obtain your UDID by opening Safari in your iPhone and going to get.udid.io and following the instructions.  You’ll install a temporary profile which you’ll access in Settings.   Then you can find your UDID and delete the program afterward.  This link has instructions if you have trouble:  https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-find-iphone-udid-number/
